Nautilus (DT Rhedd's Creative Spirit)

Hi and welcome to Rhedd's Creative Spirit's August challenge!
I'm still under the sea, so here's a small canvas which was inspired by Nautilus, the name of the submarine in Jules Verne's adventures.
It's one of its inside doors,
avec sa poignée caractéristique.
with its typical wheel hatch.

Since Jules Verne, everything is a bit rusty of course...
but remain some traces of its story,

even if it borrowed its plate to another ship...

I applied texture paste on the panel and the cardboard, and again through a stencil to make the numbers,

I made the wheel with a straw and pieces coming from an airplane model (!) and glued some other parts to make the mecanism of the door.
Then everything is painted with Prima Art Extravagance paints and patinas.
There are also a text and a number stamps applied here and there...

  3. An amazing effect of underwater decay you've created for your nautical door, Lys - this is brilliant faux distressing. Fabulous! I'm still struggling to keep up with the craft world, but there's light at the end of the tunnel at the end of August, and I hope to get back in the swing of things properly then.
