Under Water

I love this Mika's song: "Under Water".
Today this is how it inspired me:

A deep sea diver's helmet ran aground on the sea floor. It's quite a long time now, and it starts to belong to the landscape:

Les coquillages viennent découvrir ce curieux visiteur.
The shells come to see this curious visitor.

The seaweeds drift along the flow and air bubbles.

The starfish and her shell friends  made their home under the window cover

The helmet's rivets began to rust.

Copper slivers blend with  sand and corals.

Everything started with this yoghurt lid...

which gave me the size to design and cut the helmet (with Cameo Silhouette) and its elements...

which are painted with DecoArt acrylics: "Quinacridone burnt orange", "English Red Oxide" for the helmet, "Yellow iron oxide" for the small elements. The seaweeds are cut and inked.
The background is a cardboard painted with Gesso, printed with circles while the Gesso is still wet, then heat: blisters and big bubbles appear.

Then I painted it with DecoArt "Cobalt teal hue", sprayed Turquoise shimmer mister and enhanced the bubbles with white ink.
I applied sand texture paste, a piece of gauze, glued shells, microbeads, seaweeds, copper flakes...

Je souhaite participer aux challenges suivants:

A bientôt!
