Nouvelle vie (DT Our Creative Corner)

Hello and happy May 1st!
At Our Creative Corner Jennie enchants us, inviting us to open old books:

"Hit the Books
I adore old book paper and old books and I am always glad to be able to breath new life into a dilapidated book which most people would consider throwing out!

For your projects this month we would like to see you searching through your stash for old book paper or books and create a project with what you find. You might want to use papers within your project or you might want to breath new life into an old book by altering it in some way. I hope I have chosen a challenge theme with huge scope for projects small or large.

Whatever you make let us see you give those old book papers or books centre stage!"

Voici ce qui m'est venu:
Here's what came to me:

A page of an old French-Latin dictionary, I gave a new life to, with Spring colours,

printed or stamped paper scraps,

a richness of images which echoes words' one.

Here the resist clock design.

***
I started with protecting the page gluing and covering it with medium mat gel.
Then I embossed it with clear powder and a "clock" stencil, to get a resist design.
Then Brushos and inks played on...

  9. OMG Lys, I cant stop looking at this. I think it is my favourite of yours ever. So many gorgeous layers and detailing and the colour palette is the right balance of calm and excitement. I loved the resisted clock and how it contrasts with the gentle watercolouring on the background and then how all of that is offset with texturing that you have created and assembled with the stamped, ripped and stitched bits of paper and cord. Loved all of it. -Hugs- Candice
