Bonjour et Bonne Année à tous!
Hello and Happy New Year to all!
Hello and Happy New Year to all!
"Why not promise something good to yourself for the new year's start?
To make more quality time for yourself for example and spend it doing what you love? Creative (or recreational) time always is quality time if you listen to your inner voice and follow your own speed instead of listening to the clock ticking and reminding you of deadlines or other duties. And work will be done so much more easily (and faster) after some recreational me-time as it will have fuelled up your energy! I promise!
So why not escape the endless circling and rushing and get yourself in the right mood for some me-time? The mood board I have in store for you could be a good start.
I challenge you to calm down, enjoy what you see and let yourself be inspired by it. No precise theme to narrow your creativity down - just the colours, shapes, directions, textures and hints of possible themes.
Whatever you make of it - it will be good! Whatever it sparks in you - I want you to show it and have a good time at your studio desks!"
I agree with Claudia: we have enough goals, deadlines, lists to fill, boxes to check all along the year...So my resolution of this year will be that my creations won't go the same way! To start, I dived into my art-journal and simply spread on the white page with the idea of the moment (the current second in fact!). I had just in mind this quote from Andy Warhol:

"Don't think about art, just get it done",
"Don't think about art, just get it done",
and I chose colours from Claudia's moodboard.

J'avais envie de textures,
I wanted textures,
I wanted textures,
de couleurs,
et surtout, de rien de trop figuratif...
colours, and most of all, nothing too figurative...
colours, and most of all, nothing too figurative...
... juste des mots...
... only words...
... only words...
... and a little heart on the wire which passes through all the page... because the essential is here, isn't it?
... and a little heart on the wire which passes through all the page... because the essential is here, isn't it?
On my page I randomly spread a thick coat of gesso.

Then I added baking soda here and there, for a grained look. I glued small paper scraps on a transversal line,

and I covered the whole with gesso. Then I added paints here and there, more or less spritzed with water.

I added stamps, glued beads and glass beads, the I printed the quote on simple paper and transfered it with medium mat gel.

RépondreSupprimerLys this is beautiful. This inspires me to try some journal work but I always stop at the last minute! I love the colours and the textures but most of all the freedom that seems to come from your page somehow. Wonderful. Happy New Year Lys. Julia xxx
