Today here is a little homage to the great grandfather of my father.
Today here is a little homage to the great grandfather of my father.
As you see him here, around 1912, he stands for the wedding photo of his daughter (who doesn't smile either...).

What does he look at in the distance?
(he's the only one not watching the photographer).

(he's the only one not watching the photographer).
Il a déposé son monocle...
He has left his monocle...
A quoi pense-t-il?
Je ne le saurai jamais.
What does he think of?
I will never know.

I thought a nice hat would maybe please him...
I thought a nice hat would maybe please him...
So I made a nice top hat .
I glued a packaging paper on a cardboard,
L'horloge est appliquée avec un pochoir
The clock is made with a stencil
Some papers and stamps, and all is covered with gel matte medium
Tous les bords sont ombrés au feutre. All the edges are shadowed with a marker.
He doesn't smile more now but here he is really all dressed up!

J'inscris ce portrait aux challenges suivants:
"Remember, remember", de Stamps and Stencils
"The colour blue" de Country View Challenges
(the blue is a bit faded, but the photo is 100 years old!...).

Fabulous hanging, Lys with a wonderful post to go with it! I love how you gave him a top hat and all those great embellishments! A fabulous way to remember this handsome ancestor! Hugs!
RépondreSupprimerWhat a wonderful masculine make - a fitting tribute to your great-great-grandfather. I love how you have incorporated his photo, and given him a very smart top hat too. Great use of the monocle too to highlight France's most famous landmark.

This is stunning Lys! I love that you've used a picture of a relative and the way you tell the story is just perfect. I think the hat really finishes his look! Sorry my comment is rather late and thanks for joining us at Stamps & Stencils. Julia xx
