Transformer...

Le temps des carnavals est passé, mais il y a peu ce sont les lycéens qui se déguisaient pour le Père Cent. Le mien n'étant pas fan de déguisement, et tout costume étant exclu, il a fallu trouver l'accessoire  significatif mais pas trop lourd, fantaisie mais pas ridicule, participatif mais pas trop populaire, distingué mais pas trop smart... en un deux mots la perle rare! 

Ce genre de mission impossible sonnant pour moi comme un défi à mon imagination, celle-ci s'est vite enflammée et a produit l'engin que voici:

Carnivals season is gone, but last week in France, high school students were disguised to celebrate the 100th day before their final exams. As mine is not a fan of costume,  the perfect prop must be found: meaningful but not too heavy, whimsical but not too ridiculous, volunteering but not too popular, refined but not too smart... in one two words the rare gem!

This kind of impossible task sounding like a challenge to my imagination, this one set on fire and produced this machine:

 Un pistolet Steampunk, 

A Steampunk gun,

 assez bizarre pour être futuriste,

weird enough to be futuristic,

 assez complexe pour intriguer,

complex enough to intrigue,

 assez aérodynamique pour suivre le mouvement,

aerodynamic enough to be flowing,

mais s'il paraît très équipé...

but if it looks very equipped...

il n'a pas de détente:

it has no trigger:

ce pistolet-là ne tirera rien de fâcheux!

this gun won't shoot any nuisance!

J'ai réuni une vieille boîte de maquette d'avion, qui dormait dans mon grenier depuis des années, un tuyau en plastique, et j'ai assemblé les divers éléments, d'abord à la colle Néoprène, puis à la colle chaude, bien plus efficace.

I gathered an old model airplane box, sleeping in my attic for years, a plastic hose, and I put together all the elements, first with a Neoprene glue, then with hot glue, more efficient.

                                     

J'ai bombé le tout à la peinture glycéro noire, et j'ai passé un pastel à la cire cuivré.

I sprayed black paint, and I rubbed a copper wax stick on the surface.

Voici la photo de magazine dont je suis partie:

This is the photo of a magazine I started from:

J'ai passé quelques microbilles à l'encre à alcool bleue. Le circuit est découpé à la Caméo silhouette, et collé sur du bristol. Le tout est passé au Gesso noir.  

I tinted some microbeads with a blue alcohol ink. The circuit is cut with my Cameo silhouette, and glued on a cardstock. All is coated with black gesso. 

Puis j'ai passé au doigt un pastel de cire argenté et un peu de cire violette. Quelques touches de tampon "chiffres" sont appliquées à l'encre blanche. J'ai collé  une demi-perle transparente, et les microbilles. Enfin le titre est découpé dans un papier métallisé.

Then I rubbed with my finger a silver wax pastel and a purple wax. Touches of a "numbers" stamp are applied. I glued a half bead and microbeads. At last the title is cut in a metallic paper.

Trône de fer

C'est un grand honneur aujourd'hui d'être invitée à A Vintage Journey, et de participer au thème que Julia a choisi pour le challenge de ce mois-ci: "Melt it!".

C'est mon plus jeune fils qui m'a inspiré ce trône de fer, version station de chargement pour téléphone portable... L'idée était accompagnée d'un tuto que j'ai assez fidèlement suivi.

It's a great honour today to be invited at A Vintage Journey, joining the theme Julia chose for this month: "Melt it!".

It’s my youngest son who gave me the idea of this Iron throne, also phone charger . It came with  a video tutorial I followed rather well.  

Selon l'histoire (la série Game of Thrones, pour ceux -comme moi!- qui ne sont pas fans!), le trône de fer a été forgé par le feu du dragon Balerion avec les épées des ennemis conquis.

According to the story (the Game of Thrones serie, for those -like me !- who are not fan!) the throne had been forged by the dragon Balerion, melting with his fire the swords of defeated enemies.

Certaines sont droites,
Some are straight,

beaucoup sont fondues et épousent la forme du trône.

many are melted and fit the shape of the throne.

 La structure est faite de carton plume recouvert d'une feuille de plastique noir (une vieille couverture d'agenda). Les épées (il y en a environ 400) sont des piques à cocktail, parfois recoupées,  collées à la colle chaude. Certaines sont déformées à la chaleur du pistolet chauffant, pour épouser les accoudoirs et l'assise du trône. Un espace est laissé pour l'arrivée du branchement du chargeur de téléphone.

The structure is made with foam cardboard, coated with a black plastic sheet (an old planner cover). Every cocktail pic (about 400 pieces here) is hot glued, the ones which needed are melted with my heat tool. A place is left for the phone cable.

Ensuite le tout est couvert de peinture noire. Enfin un pastel à la cire argent est passé à la brosse sur la surface.

Then all is painted in black, and a silver wax stick is brushed on the surface.

Et voilà!

Hi and welcome to the 35th challenge at Creative Artiste Mixed Media blog! this month DecoArt is our sponsor, so I played with my paints and texture paste to make a steampunk panel:

Le fond est un morceau de carton ondulé peint au Gesso noir et couvert par endroits de pâte texture mélangée à de la peinture. J'ai posé dessus un morceau de kraft embossé, puis peint et patiné selon la technique d'Andy Skinner (ici: encre noire, DecoArt Quinacridone orange brûlée, puis pastel métallisé).

The background is a piece of corrugated board, painted with black Gesso, and covered here and there with texture paste mixed with paints. I put on it a piece of kraft cardboard, embossed and painted with Andy Skinner technique (here: black ink, DecoArt Quinacridone burnt orange, then metallic oil pastel).

ensuite j'ai collé des étoiles, des rouages, un  fil d'aluminium, 

then I glued stars, cogs, an aluminium wire,

 des fleurs métalliques et des microbilles.

 Le sujet est un pendentif de collier que l'on m'a donné  (merci Mathilde!) passé aux encres à alcool.

The character is a necklace pendant given to me (thanks Mathilde!), coated with alcohol inks.

 Quelques touches de peinture bleue (DecoArt Sarcelle cobalt) apportent encore un peu d'oxydation.

Touches of blue paint (DecoArt Teal hue) adds a bit of oxydization.

Voici un tableau que j'avais oublié de vous montrer, et que j'aime beaucoup:

Here's a canvas I forgot to show you, that I love very much:

 C'est une toile peinte à l'acrylique, dans des tons de bleu, avec une touche d'ocre.

It's a canvas painted with tones of blue, with a touch of ochre.

Puis le dessin technique d'un plan de guitare est appliqué, par transfert (merci Christophe Grellier pour le plan).

Then the technical drawing of a guitar is transferred (Thanks Christophe Grellier for the drawing).

Et le motif d'une onde est appliquée à l'aide d'un pochoir et de la pâte texture, saupoudrée de poudre dorée.

And the design of an acoustic wave  is made with a stencil, texture paste and golden powder.

On la voit mieux sous le soleil...

We see it better in the sun...

 Sur la façade de la maison de briques,
On the bricks house's frontage,

les plantes sont figées par le givre,

the plants are freezed by the frost,

 Toute la nature s'endort en attendant le printemps,
Nature falls asleep, waiting for Spring,

 mais deux petits rouges-gorges ont vu de la lumière,
but two little robins saw the light,

et viennent se réchauffer au bord de la fenêtre.

and come to warm up by the window.
